SOUTH SHORE FAMILY CHIROPRACTIC
Monthly News - December 2009

"What Is Everyone Waiting For?"
“If I ever knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself”. Several years ago Mickey Mantle uttered those words at his final press conference as tears ran down his face. As a doctor of chiropractic this profound quote will always be etched in my cerebral cortex.

What are people waiting for? It’s the question that resounds.  Waiting until your body is broken to care for it will never make sense to me. Why do people premises their life on the idea of immortality. Listen; there will be no do overs as there were when we played army man as kids. Our spirit may be infinite but I am pretty certain our physical properties are finite. Most of us are blessed with a proper functioning body that expresses health.

Unfortunately neglectful lifestyles lead to premature breakdown and demise.  Yes it takes time to prepare balanced meals.  Exercise entails more effort than inactivity. Vivifying your body, by participating in Chiropractic care may not be as enthralling as watching a reality show featuring vertically challenged families doing laundry. But I have a hunch the former is more everlasting than the latter.

I am confident when your body fails you from neglect all the extraneous activities we busy our lives with will be meaningless.  After 22 years in practice I am still bothered and motivated when people choose not to have their spine cared for because they feel okay. I bet they all brush their teeth even on the days they do not hurt.  Commit to your health and to your children’s health before it fails. We do not all have to end up like my Mom, Dad, and Mickey Mantle.

There will be no do overs. This holiday season instead of the usual gifting, empower the people that you love and care for by educating them about spinal hygiene, and the importance of expending the time and energy promoting health instead of combating disease.

We thank you for your faith in us in keeping you and your families Healthy!  Have a Happy and Merry Month of December!
