What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a health care profession, which
concentrates on the promotion of health not the
treatment of disease. Chiropractors focus on
helping each individual maximize his or her potential
in all areas of life. Chiropractors do this by
keeping the spinal nerve system clear of interference
(Subluxation)
as possible so the body can work better, naturally.
The word "chiropractic" is derived
from the Greek words "cheir" and "praktkos" meaning "done
by hand". From these simple beginnings,
chiropractic became more sophisticated as a formal
educational program evolved, requirements by
the schools were developed, and state and governing
laws were established.
What
type of ailments may Chiropractic help with?
The Chiropractic approach is different. Unlike the medical doctor, the Chiropractor
does not believe that health is the result of effectively treating disease. Although,
all Chiropractic offices share wonderful stories of children and adults recovering
from all kinds of ailments , it must be understood that Chiropractic care is
not a treatment for any condition or disease a patient may present. Instead of
treating the ailment, Chiropractic care assists and promotes the body's inborn
healing powers by working to eliminate spinal nerve interference (Subluxation).
People best recover from all ailments when their body is working to it's highest
potentail. Your nerve system is ultimately responsible for orchestrating the
healing process. Subluxation impedes the healing process. |
